😍 We’re absolutely obsessed with spicy Korean food, so you can imagine our excitement when we stumbled upon a couple of recipes online and decided to give them a try at home, mixing them together to work with the ingredients we had in our fridge. The results were nothing short of phenomenal.

This dish was so satisfying on its own that no extra side dishes were necessary. The only thing I needed? A cold, crisp can of beer to cool down my fiery tongue! Trust me, it’s a must-try for spice lovers. 🔥🍺

📝 Ingredients:

  • glass noodle 80-100g
  • octopus minor 300g
  • water 200ml
  • korean chili paste(go chu jang) 0.5 spoon
  • oyster sauce 1.5 sp
  • corn syrup 0.5 sp
  • chili power 2 sp
  • onion 1
  • mushroom
  • green onion (as you prefer)
  • sesame oil 0.5 sp
  • sesame seeds

🍳 Steps:

  1. Soak the glass noodles in water for 1-2 hours.

  1. Heat a frying pan without oil or water and briefly blanch the octopus.
  2. Then, dip it in cold ice water, drain, and place it in a strainer. Set it aside.
  3. Slice the onion, green onion, and mushrooms into appropriate sizes.
  4. Add the onion and green onion to the oil heated pan and stir-fry.
  5. Once the onion becomes transparent and slightly glossy, add the soy sauce and continue stir-frying.
  6. Add the chili powder and oyster sauce, stir-fry a bit more
  7. Add water, gochujang (Korean chili paste), and corn syrup, mixing everything together.
  8. Add the octopus, mushrooms, and soaked glass noodles, and simmer until the noodles are tender and the liquid has been mostly absorbed, making the dish sticky.
  9. Serve either on top of rice or in a separate bowl so that each person can mix it with rice in portions
  10. sprinkle with sesame seeds and sesame oil to your liking.
